Green Mountain Eco Route

Oak Valley is a founder member of the Green Mountain Eco Route which was formed to promote and protect the extraordinary bio-diversity of the Elgin Valley and its neighbouring regions. Oak Valley has committed its mountainside to conservation in a joint venture with adjoining farms.

The Green Mountain Eco Route enables visitors to experience bio-diversity first hand on guided trails, either by 4 x 4's, quadbikes, mountain bikes or walking trails. View the Green Mountain website and to find out how to enjoy the various activities on offer.

Oak Valley is proud to announce that it has been nominated as the 9th biodiversity Champion under the SA wine industrys Biodiversity and Wine Initiative. This was awarded in recognition of the ongoing work done on the estate to protect our priceless botantical heritage. Oak Valley was the first wine farm in the Overberg region to achieve this honour.

Oak Valley was also the winner of the inaugural 2009 Nedbank Green Awards for Best Environmental Practices within the SA wine industry.
